Terms of Service

• UrbanRoots is for players 13 and older. When you create an account we ask for your birth date to check this, and nobody younger can sign up.
• If you're not an adult yet where you live, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.
• UrbanRoots is in open alpha: expect bugs, and know that all accounts, items and Lox will be reset before launch.

• Give your real birth date when you sign up.
• Pick a username that's fine for everyone to see. Offensive names are refused, and can be reported.
• Keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what happens on your account.
• An account is for one person. Don't share, sell or give away your account, and don't use someone else's.

• Lox is the game's play money. It has no real-world value and can't be cashed out, exchanged or withdrawn.
• Your items and Lox exist only in the game, and we may change, balance or reset them (every alpha account is reset before launch).
• Buying Lox isn't available. If Lox is ever sold, buying it will always be optional.
• Packs give random items. Each pack's odds are one tap away in the store before you buy, and every opening can be checked with its fair seeds.

Wheels, Dice Blocks and Game Tables are just for fun: everyone sees the same fair result, and nothing is staked or paid.

Betting Lox or items on results isn't allowed. Worlds that run bets can be closed and their owners banned.

• Don't buy, sell or trade items, Lox or accounts for real money or for anything outside the game, and don't offer to.
• Trade inside the game only: item for item, or items for Lox.
• Accounts that trade for real money can be banned, and the items or Lox involved removed.

• Be kind. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate or sexual content, in chat, names, builds or anywhere else.
• Don't scam other players, in trades, at vending machines or anywhere else.
• Don't cheat: no hacks, bots, exploits or modified game clients. If you find a bug, tell us instead of using it.
• Don't spam or advertise, and don't pretend to be a moderator or another player.
• Keep personal information private, yours and other people's. The chat hides links, emails and phone numbers.

• A world you lock is yours to run: you choose its builders and who may enter, and you can kick or ban players from it. Your world's rules can't go against these terms: a world can't host betting, for example.
• What you build and write is part of the shared game: other players see it, and it can appear in pictures and videos of UrbanRoots.

• Reporting: click or tap a player in the game and choose Report, pick a reason and add a note if you like. The report keeps the last 30 chat lines of your world, so a moderator can see what happened. Please don't send false reports.
• Moderators (with a MOD badge) look at reports. Depending on what happened, they can mute a player (no chat or whispers, for up to 7 days), send them out of a world, or ban the account for a while or for good. Logging in to a banned account shows the reason, and when a temporary ban ends.
• World owners can kick a player out of their world (they can come back after a minute) or ban them from it.
• Blocking: block anyone to stop seeing their chat, whispers and trade requests. You find the players you blocked in the game's Settings.
• If you think a decision about your account was wrong, tell us on our Discord server.

You can delete your account at any time: in the game, open Settings (the gear button) and choose Delete account. It can't be undone. What happens to your data is in the Privacy Policy.

• UrbanRoots is in alpha: things change, break and get reset. We can't promise the game is always available or that progress is never lost.
• The game is provided as it is, without warranties, as far as the law allows.
• We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest change, and big changes are announced in the game or on Discord.
